Belief in the potential of technology was just reaffirmed. I ran across an article that skims the $4 Billion dollar pledge Obama made for Computer Science in primary and secondary schools.

The article quotes the White House as saying that, “CS is a ‘new basic’ skill necessary for economic opportunity and social mobility.” Also, the article says that according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “there will be 1 million more CS jobs than graduating students qualified to fill them.”

Looks like now is a good time to be working on tomorrow’s future as a programmer.
